Term 1, Week 4

Homework tasks for this week.

Spelling - learn your new words - the ones we wrote in on Friday.  Due to the Tryathlon being on Friday morning, we will be testing these words on Thursday.  Be prepared.

Reading - keep filling in that reading log - good job done last week.

Maths - the Maths Mate pads and Heads Up books arrived on Friday. Yay!  You will get these on Monday, ready to start this week.

Library - don't forget, our day is Tuesday.

Swimming - keep bringing your togs - we are in the pool first thing Monday morning.

Camp - please bring in your camp forms as soon as possible, and don't forget about the task that Whaea has set for you this week - baking, toys, books.

Enjoy the tryathlon on Friday - another house event - Go Blue!

It's been really hot at school, so Will has to water our classroom garden so that the sunflowers don't die.

One day during the week, Rooms 8 and 9 had a game of 'Capture the Flag'. It was a tie 1 - 1.

Marco, class librarian for Wednesday, is reading to other students.

Welcome to Week 3

This week in Room 9.

The Swimming Sports last week went off very well, with all children giving each race their best effort.  This week they will receive their certificates, and find out whether they have been selected for the Motueka Area Swimming Sports to be held on Monday 4 March.

I'm hoping this week will be a routine one, with the regular programme getting under way.

Next week, on Friday, will see the school tryathlon taking place.  For the next two weeks, if those children who can easily get their bikes to school are able to bring them, we will be able to have some biking practice in the afternoons.  Bikes are able to be left in the classroom overnight if you wish.

Homework - This week there will be spelling homework (notebooks necessary), and daily reading to be entered into the reading log.  That's all! Until the maths books that will be ordered this week arrive.

If you have any spare icecream containers, we could do with some in the classroom please.

Good luck to Room 8 who are off to camp at Lake Rotoiti on Tuesday.
